An avid health and fitness enthusiast, she has represented Trinidad and Tobago as a national amateur Body Fitness
athlete at several local, regional and international
competitions. She earned professional status
in the sport in 2011 after having won the overall prize at the Central American and Caribbean Regional Championships held in El Salvador. As a professional Figure competitor, she has competed in several international competitions from 2012 to 2014. These successes earned her a place in the top 10 national sports personalities for the First Citizens Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards for the years 2007, 2008 and 2011. She was also nominated for the award by the Trinidad and Tobago Body Building Federation for 2013.
Tamara was also elected to the post of Secretary of the Trinidad and Tobago Bodybuilders Federation in 2012 and is currently serving a four-year term.
